According to the characteristics of
butterfly valve, the following principles should be followed when selecting butterfly valves:
① Compared with gate valves, globe valves, ball valves, plug valves, etc., butterfly valves have the smallest structural size, lightest weight, and low price. Therefore, for large-size pipelines, replacing other shut-off valves with butterfly valves is very beneficial to reduce the construction cost of the device;
②Compared with gate valves, globe valves, ball valves, plug valves, etc., its sealing reliability is the worst, so it is not suitable for high temperature (such as 200℃ and above) and high pressure (such as CLASS600 and above) medium conditions, but some factories Exceptions are the special butterfly valves produced;
③For soft-sealed butterfly valves, although the price will be cheaper, it is limited by temperature and pressure;
④The closed valve cavity is suitable for low-temperature media working conditions or media working conditions where gasification may occur;
⑤Cannot be used to cut off pipelines that require ball passing;
⑥ Can be lined;
⑦Not suitable for pressure pulsating medium working conditions and medium working conditions that may cause cavitation;
⑧ It is not suitable for the working condition of high-pressure oxygen medium;
⑨ It is not suitable for medium working conditions that may cause severe erosion or erosion corrosion;
⑩Compared with gate valves and ball valves, butterfly valves are not suitable for piping systems that require strict pressure loss due to their relatively large pressure loss.
